The next question to which I want you to know the answer is What is Social Business?
I really want to make sure you understand this terminology. (I don’t want you left in the dark). Social business might be new to some people. It is also called “Social Enterprise and run by Social Entrepreneurs. I’ll use these terms often, but other synonymous terms in the culture are “for-purpose businesses,” “cause-based marketing,” “philanthropreneur.” Because the terminology is unfamiliar to many, the term “social” is misunderstood by some people because of the many other terms used in our modern day, e.g. “social media,” “social network” “socialism,” “social justice,” “social organizations,” “social workers,” and anything with similar labels.

But Social Business is NONE of these, not even close. It is its own unique ideal and has the potential for incredible social change. Specifically, to rescue malnourished children. So, let me provide you our working definition. Our Social Business as embodied in the Hope Movement is a for-profit, income-generating company that uses their products and their people to penetrate the market and generate matching nutritional servings sold and consumed to measurably address the largest social problem in the world: childhood malnutrition; and then financially compensate those who help get the job done. So, the Hope Movement implements a for-profit social business model where team members are financially compensated for the results they help produce.
