The Hope Movement is the perfect opportunity for baby boomers who can take social enterprise ideas and create a significant “encore career.” This is a strategy concept of author Marc Freeman. He deems the encore career necessary for society to realize a vast “experience dividend” from the “biggest generation in American history.”
Building a team from cultivated relationships would be easy for the baby boomer social entrepreneur. They are at just the age and disposition to call people up and say, “May I come talk with you?” or “Can I add you to my email list?”
Classmates, teachers and former colleagues could be recruited but not necessarily on friendship alone. Instead, it’s a search for people with similar values.
Their introduction is, “I am a social entrepreneur and get paid to help solve the world’s largest problems. Can I tell you about it?”
