Experience the Hope Movement
Know the Social Enterprise Business Model
My name is Connor and I am a college student. I represent the younger of the Millennials, those born from 1980 to the early 2000’s. What is evident is that Millennials are very much interested in social outreaches. Among other things, we want to drill water wells in impoverished nations, bring relief to refugee camps, discover cures for diseases, support orphanages, and expand access to microcredit.
But what is also significant is that by the year 2017 Millennials will have more buying power than any generation in history. We are a ripe and influential group in the big picture of socially responsible marketing.
This is why we are excited about the possibilities of the Hope Movement. Our involvement in a project that addresses the largest social problem on the planet helps define our place in the future market.
It is already said that people who promote the Hope Movement make their living saving lives and making the world a better place. This might be especially appealing to Millennials.
Evidence that we have special interest in social causes and even in jobs and careers that have social objectives is the comment by Bornstein from his book Social Entrepreneurship: What Everyone Needs to Know. He says, “social enterprise clubs at leading business schools are generally among the most popular on campus.”
Bornstein continues, “As a mark of interest in the field, the recent ratio of applications to positions at esteemed social change organizations has been roughly 100 to 1. In 2008, the Reynolds Program for Social Entrepreneurship at New York University received more than 1,000 applications for 14 fellowships.”
The Harvard Business Review calls social entrepreneurship the most dynamic business model of this millennium.
If you are a millennial or know someone in this impactful group, the Hope Movement is something worthy of investigation.
We challenge Millennials to enroll in the Hope Movement. It is simply the right thing to do, especially if you want to impact the world like this idea is doing.
