When Passion Meets Purpose and Profit: The Ongoing Call of Social Business Click Play to begin

Hi, this is Tony McWilliams, and I’m here with my daughter.

Hi, I’m LindEy Duckworth, and I’m here with my dad.

We love talking about, we would stay up all night talking about what more could we do. We love being a part of something bigger. And I love that you shared Sam’s story. This story must be known. It’s so wonderful. It’s so beautiful. Just a living legend. Truly. I’m glad to know them. I’m glad to be talking about what they do. And we have a whole lot more to say.

Yeah. We’re kind of slowly getting there, revealing a lot about what social business is about and that sort of thing. And we’ll talk more about that.

Yeah. Because there’s a lot more to be said. Because about the time that I started learning about it, and I know a lot of our conversation is not in chronological order, so we send our apologies. But 2014 is when I started learning about it. And for the next two years, I wrote, studied. I wrote 60 blogs on the subject of social business. I read the book Sam said read. Your mom and I started doing podcasts. We called our podcast Social Business, The Heart of the Matter. And we did five podcast episodes. Unfortunately, that’s when your mom turned ill and ended up going to heaven at the end of that year. But we were in with both feet trying to get the word out about social business. Three of those shows, three of those five was me interviewing Sam.

Oh, great. And maybe we’ll end up.

Yeah, you need to play that.

Yeah, maybe we’ll end up playing some of it. Because like I said, when he speaks, everybody listens.

Yeah, he’s a great storyteller.

Oh, yeah, for sure. Of course, he just keeps telling his story over and over again. I’m sure he’s just told it tens of thousands of times. But anyway, social business, I just began to realize how incredible it was. Unfortunately, because of the passing of your mom, I just kind of lost focus. I needed to grieve and to just go in other directions. But for about five years, Sam’s continued to build. And there’s some details that we’ll share later about that. Now we’re a whole lot more serious about the social business concept and how it can save lives as well as bless those who get involved.

Yeah. Well, thanks for the conversation, Dad. Thanks for listening in, everybody. I hope you will always be careful to maintain good works, to meet urgent needs, and become heroes to your generation.

And as my mom always used to say, when you choose to look past the horizon, the sky’s the limit. See you soon.
